This case began with the purchase of a newly constructed home, chosen with the expectation that it complied with the adopted building code and had passed required inspections.
After occupancy, multiple conditions were discovered that did not meet code requirements — despite having been approved during construction.
What followed exposed a simple reality: approval does not always mean compliance, and accountability can be difficult to obtain.
